FLAG DAY
Saturday, April 24, 2010 @ 7:40 PM

The day where humans avoid a fellow human holding a can.

where eyes tighten. sigh. aren't asian eyes small enough?
where mouths mumble intelligible rubbish (sreeigordnokoin)
where hands are trying to stop an invisible flood
where heads bow for nothing
where people smile but just walk past
where people pretend to take out their wallets
where people voice out their financial problems
where people ignore your presence

I feel like during flag day is the day where
you meet all kinds of people..
stingy ones, ignorant ones, fake ones, generous ones, reluctant ones
seriously.
some kids are like trained by their parents to hold out their hands and
say no no no we not giving.
if my kid is ever like that i will smack his mouth. so rude!
if you dont want to give, don't.
don't teach your children to be as stingy as you.
just go away. don't give stupid comments as if you have eaten more
salt than a 100 year old granny. even older people are willing to give.

during SP flag day the funniest one i remember was
"SP so rich already, they don't need anymore money"
eh, you deaf ah, i said it's for the president's challenge dey.
it's just that our school adopted it as our charity organisation.
YOU FAIL.

Like, they think they are so clever, giving these one liners
and try to put people who are sweating in the hot sun out,
but actually they are making a fool of themselves..
not saying i don't reject some people who asked me to donate
i do reject them when i am rushing, but i do give when i have time.
but i don't go around saying rubbish like:"the children don't deserve any
help. Why should i help them?"(this was said to me in last year's flag day)
don't want to give, just walk on.
just don't act smart.
don't.
it makes you look stupid and shows how uncivilised you are
to people who are making effort to help charity even if they didn't like it.
